Quiet Update

Yesterday was a quiet day, with one exception... Shea gave a slight reaction to the doctor's request to squeeze his hand.

It was a little step, but one that was greeted with much enthusiasm by those at the hospital.

Sarah and CJ are going back to Boston today, and Michael (Susan's brother) comes in tomorrow.

We will update this blog throughout the day on the progress of the MRI and tracheoscopy.

Happy Monday, Shea.
We are glad to hear that you are following doctors orders! Yesterday in church my 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School students prayed for you. It was a blessing to see their reaction when I told them how well you were doing, and how the Lord is watching over you. Keep up the good work and we are always in prayer for you. Our God is an awesome God!

Love Ya!

Good Morning Shea, I hope that the MRI goes well today. I came across this verse and it has provided me with comfort and hope it does the same for you and your family:

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you." Isaiah 43:2

I hope this is an amazing week for you and I trust that each day will be another testament of God's faithfulness and mercy. I am praying that God will carefully knit you back together and that your doctors and surgeons will be hand-picked by our Father.

Take care- Marian Madden

Good Morning Shea-
I am still pushing to get that cappicino in your feeding tube. I know that has to be better than what they are giving you. Yuck - do you think they actually mash up food and put it in that little IV bag?
It is amazing to see how God is working through this terrible time. We love you.

Good morning, Shea. My name is Susan Huckabee and I'm David and Christopher Huckabee's Mom and Dad. Chris and David are cousins to Michael and Kyle. They traveled to Atlanata to provide the support for the Huckabee Family. I was not able to travel due to medical issues.

My entire family is praying for your continued improvement. You have been a blessing to the Jones and Huckabee Family.

With Love,

Good morning Shea...

It's a joyful, but chilly day here in Scottsdale. The fellas and I are warmed by the good news of your continued progress.

We are humbled by your strength and resolve -- "...for your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ..." (1 Thes 1:2-3).

We love you and continue to praise God as we witness Him faithfully answering prayers that surely fill all of heaven.

B I G, virtual hugs to you, your Dad, Mom, Luke and Jesse!

Dear Lauren Shea, Luke, Jesse, Susan and Steve, you continue to be on our minds and in our prayers throughout each day. In reading all the comments, I am reminded of that song "How Beautiful is the Body of Christ," which we last heard you, Susan, sing at Heart to Heart so long ago. What a fellowship is ours! Steve and Susan, we pray you will be able to rest (physically, spiritually, and mentally) at regular intervals, for that will help you be most able to help your children. We love you. Hey sister,

You don't know me, but I am a friend of Megan Kucala. It's hard to know what to say, but I wanted to leave you a note to tell you what a testament you are to God's power. God is most certainly using you to reach a countless number of people for His kingdom! I will continue to pray for you throughout your miraculous recovery. Praise God for your life!

In Christ,
-Amy Wright

Thank you so much for all the updates. So glad that Grandpa gets to visit this week. For me, praying seems to eliminate the distance between us and makes the planet feel like a very small place.

Shea, My prayer is that you and your loved ones will feel the same sense of promise & peace that is expressed in the words of "O Holy Night." I will sing it with you in mind tomorrow at 2pm (that's 1400 hours for your nurses). Love, Mark
