Surgery Schedule

It appears that the first 12 hour facial surgery will take place on Friday afternoon. The doctor says he covers up the clock in the operating room because he doesn't want time to be a factor. They will work for as long as they are making progress and as long as Shea is tolerating the anesthetic. The doctor that started the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (and the doctor that oversees all of Shea's medical care) told Steve that if his son needed facial surgery, he would choose the doctor that is performing the surgery on Shea. This gave Steve and Susan an extra boost of confidence.

In preperation for the surgery, Shea will have the tracheoscopy performed today. The procedure is done in her room, so they don't have an actual time scheduled, since it will be determined by when all of the day to day procedures are completed. Two nurses brought up Tommy Tracheosaurus (a stuffed dinosaur with a trach vent attached to it) and explained to Jess that the procedure would help Shea. They said smaller kids are sometimes shocked to see the drainage and ventilator tubes coming out of the vent. Jess seemed fine with it all.

Shea's appearance continues to improve, with the bruises around her eyes receding a bit. Last night when we went up to give her a good night kiss, she was moving quite a bit. It will be good to get the feeding and ventalator tubes out of her mouth so she won't resist them.

Yesterday Luke had a friend drop by from Atlanta and decided to go back to Atlanta and spend the night there. Joy did the family's laundry and cleaned up the crowded room at the Ronald McDonald house. When Susan saw it she said "I can make this home for a while." With so much focused on Shea, the family needs help with some of the less dramatic and more mundane tasks too.

Once again David Anderson was right. It was a good day in Macon.

Actually, it was a great day.

Hey Shea,

It is so great to hear of the progress you are making. I have told of the miracles we are experiencing to all who will listen and it has brought glory to Our Lord. We can't wait to talk to you and see you again. Payton printed a picture of you and wrote "my role model" on it. You know what is so cool about that...She has never been very impressed by Jessica Simpson or any of those other stars. I don't think I have ever heard her acknowledge anyone as her role model.
I thank my God everytime I think of you! He hears our prayers and answers our prayers. May you feel our love while you are away from us!!

Steve and Susan,

We would love to have Jess again if he wants to come back overnight or over a few nights. Parker asked if he could come back. Can we come get him or is anyone flying out of Atlanta soon that we could meet?

Let us know!

Shea, Steve, Susan, Luke and Jess,

We were at SBC when you were there. Were always moved by the worship that was led in spirit and in truth. We are now at Highlands and Bob Wade put out a call to prayer for Shea last week. Then Briana let us know about this site.
We are so glad she did.
Listened to Shea's songs, and hear that same great heart of worship that she caught from her Dad! We listen to, Infinite Father, over and over! It blesses us so much and just leads us right to prayer; right to the Father.
Then hearing all about Shea; what a blessing she is!! What a testimony to her parents. Wow!
What a blessing and witness to others.
I became a Christian at Willow Creek, a year after my dad was killed by a drunk driver. As Pastor Bill would say, these hard times can't help but change each of you, but they will change you in a way that will put this life all in perspective.
That hurt in my life brought me to know Jesus, and made me a much more caring person.
When we were in the worship service at SBC, that brought us back to where we needed to be.
It just blesses my heart to see so many people that love you all and even that don't know you, come together and care, love and pray for you!! Just wanting to share how much they hurt for you and wish they could help in some way.
They are praying and God is answering all their prayers!
What a way God has already used your gift, your daughter, and how greatly more He is going to use her!!!! There is no greater thing!
Can hear Shea's heart and love for God in her songs. Her strength and her comfort in Him. May you find that same strength and comfort right now.
We are praying continually for all of you each and every day.
May the God you lead people to worship to so faithfully and greatly, be your all and all!!!
We share our whole-hearted wishes for your peace right from the hand of God all around you!!!!
May you just keep singing and praising,
Mike and Denise Nicolette

Beautiful Shea Stahrr 4 Life,

Hey girlie! I am amazed at the wonderful things that God is doing for you. Praise Him!

I am back at school here in Texas. It was hard to leave home but at least I am that much closer to you! I gave Chase a haircut before I left, he liked it (but I think he was just being nice). I couldn't stop saying how much I wished that you were there giving him a haircut instead of me. I insisted that Kelly even it up.

I can't believe all the progress that you have made in such a short amount of time. God is good. I am so thankful every day that I wake up and get to see all your progress. I have made it a point that whenever I am walking to class or to meet someone, any alone time that I have, I pray for you and your wonderful family and doctors. Before your accident I wrote reminders in my planner to call you every saturday. They stay there as motivation for me to pray even harder for a quick recovery; and for the time that I can talk to you again. The miracle that God is doing in your life is affecting so many people! Even here at a Christian university I have been talking to people about your miracle and showing people the amazing love and power of our God! I have posted so many pictures of you around our room, and your voice is constantly playing from my computer. I can not help but feel like you are all around. I miss you so much and I can not wait for you to get better. I love you! I love you! I love you!

Shea! Woo hoo! I'm glad you're doing better! I was so excited to hear about each new little miracle, especially your MRI! Can't wait til you're all better...you n me n Rachel will have to go get into trouble somewhere fun when we get a chance.
Heard a verse that I thought you might appreciate...its one of my favorites:
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity.I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."
Jeremiah 29:11-14
Yay to God for everything He's already done, and for everything he's going to do!
Love ya,
Kacie

Shea, Steve, Susan, Luke, and Jesse,

What great news on the MRI! We're so encouraged by the progress but not surprised that God is working many miracles through this tragedy. A group of the families from the Prince's PAK and I are lifting you all up constantly.

I was really blessed to hear your beautiful version of "Intimate Father". Thank you for allowing us to hear your beautiful singing as we pray for you all. I remember when that song was just created and can still picture the yellow legal pad with the lyrics on your dad's desk as he and Sean were working out the details to share it with the congregation for the first time. Little did we know the powerful plans God had for that love song through your glorious voice. Keep clinging to Him and know He is showing many others His glory through this path you are now having to walk.

With much love and many prayers,
Tambra Lamb and family
