Lauren Shea:
We are thrilled to hear more good news from the doctors. Remember that you are in good hands – both the medical staff and of course, the hands of our Lord.

The doctors are already calling your quick recovery a miracle, but we shouldn’t be surprised – we serve a mighty God!]

Keep yourself strong – there are folks all over the world praying for you today.

Luke:
You are truly a lifesaver! Keep yourself strong, too – you have some healing to do, and God has much to do through you in the years ahead.

Steve, Susan, and Jesse:
You are in our prayers. Take care of each other through this time of testing. Get the rest you need - and Steve, eat something healthy! More than ever before, God will use this test to refine your faith in Him.

Lauren Shea,
Hi!, Its your cousin Melissa Eimers here writing from Tennessee. I guess you are hearing from friends and family all over the place! Here in our corner of the world the fall weather is cool but nice and the girls just have been playing outside. Hannah is six now and when I think of you and Hannah at the same time I think of when we took her out to visit you in Arizona and you were flying her over your head when she spit up--right on your forhead! I still have that picture around here somewhere...I remember that while I was taking the picture you were smiling and saying through your teeth, " Hurry up, Its running down to my eyes!" Yuk! But it was funny.
Annette is 3 and a half. About the same age Jesse was when we lived with you all. Remember how he was always having to take trips to the laundry room? Poor Jesse. What a different little guy he is now!
Our little Ivy Mae is 7 months old. She is such a dolly. She is very affectionate and she absolutely LOVES kisses. I wish I could bring her to give you some "Lovins" as we call them. She sits up and crawls around and eats every piece of lint she can find but she's worth it. She really is the best baby. She has a silky-fabric blankie that she likes to suck on. I tried to get her to suck her thumb but she never would--oh well.
Steve is working a lot this time of year. His window cleaning business is especially busy while everyone is getting ready for the holidays. By the way, we are so excited for you and your family that you will likely be doing so much better in time for Christmas. I wonder if you will be home to your fabulous room by then. That will really be something to work toward, won't it?!
I am of course, busy with the girls and keeping Steve in line! (Remember the time your dad hid in the bed while my Steve was in the shower and then popped out at him? We all got a lot of laughs out of that!) My mom and Dad have recently moved down here to Tennessee, if you remember, and we have been helping them work on their house a lot. Grandpa Anderson is so great and we love being so near to him. Annette loves to go and stand at his desk and draw him pictures on little scraps of paper. Hannah loves to just hang out and hope that he changes the TV channel off from FOX news (his favorite). And Ivy, well, no one can put her to sleep faster than Great-grandpa! She also likes to feel his beard.
When you are well again it would be great to have you all come for a visit. I know Grandpa enjoys seeing everyone but you'll be an extra special treat.
Well, I am rambling on but just thought I'd write something newsy for now. I will write again soon. I'll tell you what--You really had us all more scared than you know! You have been given a gift by God, It seems, because mere medical workers are astounded by your improvements! What God has in store for you none of us knows but keep him first. And work hard getting well so you will be ready! Wow! You have such a beautiful spirit that I know you will touch all who are with you. Make the most of it all! We love you so much.
Melissa, Steve, Hannah, Annette, and little Ivy.

Dear Shea,

Our hearts were broken to hear about this valley you and your family are traveling through. But we are sustained by the fact that we serve a merciful and gracious God, the Author of life and the Great Physician. We can be confident in His mercy. Know that we are praying continually for you, Luke, Jesse, and your Mom & Dad. We are so grateful for the privilege of knowing you and your family and the ways you have blessed our family. Colton has fond memories of you as his Sunday school teacher and we all miss your angelic voice and incredibly sweet spirit that refreshes the soul. We anxiously look forward to experiencing the blessing of both again soon.

All our love and prayers,

The Snyders

Life is hard, the world is cold
We're barely young and then we're old
But every falling tear is always understood
Yes, life is hard, but God is good

You start to cry
'Cause you've been strong for so long
And that's not how you feel
You try to pray
But there's nothing left to say
So you just quietly kneel

In the silence of all that you face
God will give you His mercy and grace

Jesus never said
It was an easy road to travel
He only said that you would never be alone
So when your last thread of hope
Begins to come unraveled
Don't give up, He walks beside you
On this journey home and He knows

Life is hard, the world is cold
We're barely young and then we're old
But every falling tear is always understood
Yes, life is hard, but God is good.

If that great group of folks are all thinking of you and wishing you their best, you're in good shape! I wish you well - good luck in your recovery from me and all the rock-show fans out there! Steve, Susan, Shea, Luke, and Jess - Our prayers are constantly with you during this time. Remember Jesus's words in 2 Cor. 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." No doubt you all are feeling very "weak" right now, but praise God His grace is sufficient. He is the God of restoration and we pray for restoration for your family and 100% restoration for Shea's body. We love you all.

Shea,
I am ashamed to admit that for some years, the Thanksgiving holiday has passed by without much conscious thought on my part of my real blessings. The emphasis has been on packing and traveling to Grandma's and eating lots of good food. This year it is different. I am so thankful for the influence of the Bridge Church in my life, and I am so thankful that when you and your Dad sing on stage... my heart melts. You make God seem real to me in a whole new way. And I am VERY thankful that you are still with us. Fight Shea, fight. We need you.
Love to you and your family,

Shea,

It's true, everybody in Arizona is praying for you. The community groups in Flood, a new church out here in Arizona, have been on their knees asking God to work on your behalf. You have the prayers of an army of believers asking the Creator of the universe to heal you! I definitely believe in miracles.

Also, thanks to whoever is in charge of updating this blogpage. It's amazing to pray alongside you all for specific things.

Hickok Family -

We attended the evening service at SBC while Steve and your family served to lead worship. We listened to Shea many times lead us into worship with her amazing and beautiful voice, and felt truly blessed by your entire family's service. We are so sorry to hear of Shea's injuries, and her boyfriend's death. We will pray for Shea's recovery, Luke's health, and your entire family to keep united through this terrible time. Also, we pray for her boyfriend's family.

What a blessing and a privilege to be praying for you, Shea. Reading about how God is at work in your body and in your life is a wonderful encouragement of faith. Our faith in Him is not misplaced! He hears and answers, and He delights that we ask and delights to perform His healing in you.

What an awesome view of the magnificence of the Body of Christ!

I'm praying for you and blessing His name.

Shea,
Although we have never met, you are in my prayers. You are my sister in Jesus Christ. Your situation was brought to my attentin by another brother. Jesus Christ is the great physician and it sounds like you have overcome much already. I understand you have a long way to go. I believe God has a bigger plan for your life than you would ever know at this time and so my prayer, is that through your faith in Christ and His overwelming love for you, you will come through this stronger than you can imagine and therefore fullfill Gods plan for your life.

"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." PSALM 42:11

Your brother in Christ,
Terry Willey

Two weeks ago Chip shared the Lord's Prayer and asked us to focus our meditation on all of the attributes we could think of regarding each of the parts of the prayer, and also to pray God's promises from His Word back to Him. The one that has meant the most to me is that of God as "Our Father". I'm claiming everything I can think of on your behalf because God is YOUR father. YOUR father just happens to be the creator of the universe. YOUR father just happens to be the sovereign ruler of the universe. YOUR father just happens to be Jehovah Rafah the Lord who heals. YOUR father just happens to be Jehovah Jireh the Lord who provides. I found the following that I thought you might enjoy:

JEHOVAH JIREH, MY PROVIDER, HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME, FOR ME, FOR ME
JEHOVAH JIREH, MY PROVIDER, HIS GRACE IS SUFFICENT FOR ME
MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL MY NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY
HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER ME
JEHOVAH JIREH CARES FOR ME, FOR ME, FOR ME
JEHOVAH JIREH CARES FOR ME
JEHOVAH RAFAH, MY PHYSICIAN, HIS BODY WAS BROKEN
FOR ME, FOR ME, FOR ME
JEHOVAH RAFAH, MY PHYSICIAN, HIS BODY WAS BROKEN FOR ME

Love you all

Dear Shea,

We have only met for a brief time, but I have prayed for you nonstop and I'm so happy to see God's work in your life. I can't wait to be able to worship with you again.

Late last night a favorite worship song of mine popped into my head and made me think of you.

"Rescue"

You are the source of life
I can't be left behind
No one else will do
I will take hold of you

Because I need you Jesus
To come to my rescue
Where else can I go
There's no other name by which I am saved
Capture me with grace
I will follow you

Our entire church is praying for you Shea and we can't wait to her your amazing voice again.
