Temperature Needs to Come Down for Surgery
It's about 11 PM.
I just returned from a pre-surgery conference with Steve and Dr. Carey, the maxillofaical specialist who'll be doing the surgery tomorrow. (David and Joy Pippenger diagrammed the surgery in great detail a few days ago so I'd refer you to that report).
The real concern tonight is Shea's temperature which rose to 101.5 today. She's been on antibiotics to try to bring it down. Dr. Carey said that in order for him to proceeed tomorrow her temp must be no higher than 99 degrees.
Steve and Susan have asked that we pray that God's will be done in this matter. Clearly we'd like to see the temp go down so the surgery can proceeed. But if it must be delayed, there will be ample time in the days ahead.
Love to you all. Thank you for keeping our dear Shea in your prayers.

Thank you Michael for this late night post. There are many of us checking at all hours and it is good to know how to pray. We are grateful for you, the Andersons, who are keeping us all so well informed.
Right now in the early morning hours of Friday I know there are others praying w/ Susan and Steve for God's will for the surgery. We continue to cry with them, but are grateful that now the tears are not just sorrow, but of joy as well.
Susan, Steve, Shea, Luke, and Jessie,
The prayer warriors at my school are on their knees today. We are praying for Shea and her temperature and the surgeons and they make Shea whole again. We are excited that this is the beginning of a healing process for Shea.
Bill and I will try to come visit on Sunday. Let us know if you need us to bring anything - we love you guys and wish we were there with you through this.
Anna and Bill
The Kansas Huckabee family (Anna Jones is my sister)sends our prayers and support.
It was wonderful to hear about Shea's successful trach and feeding tube! Good news about no knee surgery too! A little bird had told me about the upcoming Big-16 event. Luke got the best gift ever...love from his sister.
My almost 16 year old son, David, thinks an awful lot of your family. Last summer he spent two weeks with Anna, Bill, Michael, Kyle, Emily, Megan and Katie. Shea and Luke were also in the mix of Great Kids/Young Adults. David feels really connected to the Atlanta gang and has been very, very focused on everything that has been happening with the Jones and Hickok family.
We hope that lots and lots of prayers from our friends from around the country continue to help provide comfort and support to you and the Jones. Do you feel the prayers from Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Nevada, Missouri, Colorado and everywhere? Be assured, they are there for you constantly.
Love,

We're praying that S. will cool off today, and subsequently, for cool heads in surgery, steady hands, optimally functioning equipment, facial nerve protection, unwavering vitals, and incredibly efficient fracture repair capped off with infection-free recovery. Corky's procedure is also on our minds in the same way. I hope all of you simply feel surrounded with love today; by God and those with you, and by those of us scattered across the miles thanking Him each day as we watch this incredible story continue to unfold...
All My Love,
Hayes
Good luck Shea..i love you!
love, Dani
