Another very good day for Shea. We're so excited about the stability in her condition. She's strong enough for facial surgery tomorrow and that's such great news.
Here are the notes from the comments made by the doctors and nurses in the morning rounds:
Morning Rounds Report
The very simple news, the very good news is that Shea is stable; there has been no significant change.
She did run a temperature overnight, just over 101. They ordered a routine culture (blood, urine, sputum) and these results will come back in 24-48 hours. Susan and Steve are asking that we have special prayer that the temperature will return to normal; this would be optimal for surgery tomorrow.
The arm edema is slightly better. Her face is less swollen as well.
Jeanne asked: if Shea didn’t have to have this facial surgery, couldn’t we be working on getting her out of ICU. Dr. Narsinghani said, “Yes, that’s right. In fact if you just looked at her chest x-ray, if you didn't know she had facial injury, you’d wonder—why is she even in here?”
Surgery Tomorrow, Friday, 3 PM
Dr. Carey, the surgeon, has a tentative schedule of 3 PM Friday. Surgery will be done in the main building, second floor. The surgery could be as long as 12 hours, until 3 AM Saturday.
I asked them about plans to move Shea to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. It’s primarily a rehab hospital. They said, she’ll need to be off the versed and the morphine before going there. Also, she'll need to be off the ventilator and ready to do rehab work. But they have put Shea on the wait list for Shepherd so we're ready when she's ready.
Susan and Steve ask that we be in prayer for a successful surgery, that God will give wisdom to the surgeon and staff and that Shea will come through in full helath, with no paralysis or complications. Amen. Amen.
Prayer for Steve's Mom
Steve heard today that his mother has fallen recently. She's having surgery tomorrow on her wrist. Steve has asked that we keep her in our prayers.

Just checked in for the first time today knowing tomorrow is a big day for Shea...thank you so much for these updates. We have been praying all week for tomorrow. I just know God will do an incredible work through these great physicians tomorrow. The outcome will be another mind-blowing victory...wait and see.
Wanted so bad to call Lukus last night and check in on the birthday celebration...Hartley is the only one with Luke's phone # and he was at the Suns' game (they pounded the Pacers in case you were curious) and tonight he is at Chaparral at some function he gets extra credit for...we'll hope to make that call and "personally" wish him a belated Happy Birthday.
Sorry to hear about Esteban's mom. Will include her in our prayers.
So look forward to hearing about tomorrow's victory...
All our love to you guys.

My heart and my thoughts & prayers are always with you!

Hi Shea
We are so excited to hear how well you are doing. We will be praying for your surgery tomorrow. We've been listening to your song, and your voice is soooo beautiful. We can't wait to get your CD, and for you to sing many more wonderful songs. We love you and will be waiting to hear how well your surgery went.
