Food... sort of
Shea is being fed through a feeding tube for the first time. Granted, mashed up food may not be her favorite meal, but it's a step in the right direction!
The procedure uses a new technique that bypasses the stomach, which should minimize the risks associated with the standard feeding tube. The doctor that invented the procedure was the one who performed it on Shea.
We have not received any of the lab results yet.
Keep those thoughts and prayers coming.

I just wanted to let you know that Shea is in my prayers as is Luke and the rest of your family. Shea's warm smile brightens every room she enters and she just has such a caring spirit. I will continue to pray in faith for your family.
Shea and the Hickok Family,
When i think of Shea, i think of sooo many things..the pictures of Luke, Shea,Jonathon and Kaylan all playing dressup, the times that everyone was sure that kaylan and luke were destined to be married, the times at the Whitakers where me and kaylan would be in awe of how beautiful shea is, and so many memories
the situation has been brought up in prayer many times at school
today in sign language, one girl brought up how much prayer you and your family needed and it was so wierd to me that she knew you through a teacher, and she was praying for you, then another girl who attended heart to heart said yes i know them too! before you knew it, many people were recalling you and your family
prayer spreads rapidly
you're a beautiful person shea, you always have been, and you always will be, nothing can change that

I was just sent your story of your accident by a mutual friend, and want you to know that many, many people are praying for you. I'm a member of Bethany Bible Church in Phoenix, and my friend is a member of Scottsdale Bible Church, where your dad served on the pastoral staff. It's easy to see from your picture that you are a beautiful girl and were a happy and outgoing young lady with a beaming, bright smile. I'm sure your friends, family and even people like me who don't know you, are all wishing you the very best as you recover and once again can resume your happy, active life. You have a struggle ahead of you, and part of my prayer for you is that everyone you touch will see the love of Jesus through your life and you walk this journey. Certainly no one would wish this to happen to such a beautiful, bright young lady, but we have the Lord's assurance that He will see us through these tough times. You and your family will meet people through this tragedy that you would have never met otherwise, and perhaps there will be someone who will meet the Lord through the evidence of Him in your lives. We so often don't know or understand why such awful things happen,.. so undeserved,... but you have a wonderful life ahead of you, and you'll get through this,... better and stronger. Our prayers for you will continue as you rest and recover. Our hands and prayers are reaching out to you in love.
