1000 Messages

My original purpose in setting up this blog was to provide family members with an update between conference calls.

Within one day it was obvious that its scope would reach far outside our family.

As I write this today, there are over 1000 messages and postings on this blog.

I know I speak for all of the families involved when I say that the outpouring of support and prayers for our Shea has not only been heartwarming and encouraging, it has been life giving.

It is unfortunate, that in these types of circumstances, we find that mere words are too insignificant of a tool to convey our appreciation for you. Those of you who take time every day to check this site and offer your prayers on Shea's behalf will never fully grasp the level of encouragement you have provided.

We find ourselves wishing that we could all be together in one room where our heartfelt gratitude and love could be felt through hugs and observed through tears of thankfulness.

Well, that meeting may never take place, but the tears of thankfulness are taking place every day.

Not in a big room filled with people,
... but in a small hospital room filled with equipment.

Thank you.

David Pippenger

Dear Shea, I am one of those people you do not know, but Krys Van Slyke requested prayers for you on the Central Chistian Church website. I check on your status several times a day and pray for you constantly. You are in my heart at all times. Everytime I think of you I pray for you. There are many others doing the same, and He is listening and answering our prayers! I pray also for your dear family and friends. I know there is a special purpose for after this.
Love and Hugs,

Shea, You are in my thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to hug your neck and see your smile. We miss you at The Bridge. I check this site 3 or 4 times a day to stay in touch. It has taken me this long to figure how to send you a message. I am not real strong on the computer. Have a wonderful, restful night sleep.
In Christ, Phyllis and Pete

PS. Steve and Susan I wish I could give you a big hug. If you need anything call us anytime. We love and miss you, Phyllis and Pete

I check the blog several times each day. When I do, I find I am filled with the Holy Spirit and weep and pray as I read. What a powerful testimony to our Holy Father and the Peace of Jesus....as we celebrate His birth. We often use the phrase "brothers and sisters" in Christ....but seldom have the priviledge to experience it in such a real way. Steve..we've only chatted in the hallways of SBC...Susan, we've never really met, but I feel so connected to your family at this time..my heart goes out to you ....the power and might of our God is so awesome.....

David,
Our family can't thank you enough for this blog sight. When we first heard of Shea's accident it was such an awful empty feeling not being able to contact someone to find out what was happening. When this sight was put together it was an answer to prayer. Also, knowing that Steve and Susan have such a wonderful family there to help is truly a comfort for us back in Phoenix. Meanwhile we keep praying for our beautiful precious Shea, along with the rest of the family.
And we keep reading about the miricles God is doing with her healing daily.
Thank You again (and over and over THANK YOU)

Dear Sweet Little Angel,

Although you don't know me, I think of you often through out the day and night. I always say a prayer for you and your family. I pray that God will continue to heal your body. A few years ago I was very sick and in the hospital. I remember late one night in a deep - deep prayer asking God to please heal my body! Over and over again I prayed. It was a night that I will never ever forget! Our Father is so awesome - He healed my body and he is healing yours too!
Keep up the great work sweet girl! You are so brave and strong. You inspire me with your angelic voice and your amazing courage!

Much love and prayers from someone who cares.

Blessed be the name of the Lord...amen

If ever there was a song that had to keep me awake at night, THAT would be the one I would want...not that I need a case of insomnia at this point in my life so I should be careful what I say...from now on whenever we play that great song, it will have a different meaning to me.

I am SO praising God for all the healing He has brought to Shea...what a moment it must have been to have our dear Shea hug Mom, give the thumbs up... all the tremendous signs of her coming back to us.

I am SO praising God for bringing encouragement to Steve and Susan, Luke and Jesse...to know there are so many who love them and support them and do so with such Christ-filled enthusiasm.

I am SO praising God for demonstrating His miraculous and loving ways to every unsaved person that has been witness to these events.

And I am SO praising God for taking this gathering of His children and showing us how He wants to change each of us in some significant and personal way.

2+ weeks ago I (like so many of you) was completely devastated by this news. Yet through all the tears and the prayers, God has shown all of us how faithful, gracious, merciful and loving He is ... and how powerful prayer is! Throughout these past 2+ weeks, he has shown me in a deep and meaningful way how I can let go and trust Him in areas of my life that I have really struggled with for the duration of my journey thus far.

Shea, sweetheart...we continue to pray for your healing and your strength (the pneumonia will soon be gone)... for your resilience and tenacity in the days ahead. And we continue to pray with passion and a gratitude that we never knew before this day!

Bless you...Stevie Wonder, Susan (Wonder), Luke and Jesse

Shea
Take this time to continue to rest. Fight off the infection and let the Lord continue to do miracles in your body! He is a mighty God who has shown us all the power of His might.

Shea, you'll never know just how many lives the Lord has touched because of you. Your sweet, sweet spirit, your music, and now, through the prayers of many brothers and sisters around the world. You and your family, with their patience, faith, and hope have been a great encouragement!

[And if Lilly Perrotti should read this, "Hi" back at ya! - We're still in the book; give us a call if you'd like!]

Dave,

Thanks again, my friend, for allowing all of us to share in the ability to pray specifically for Shea through this blog. DeDe has been wonderful in filling in the information cracks that are inevitably there, but even seeing old friends' names of whom we haven't seen for ages has been a great encouragement. Since people are saying hi to each other, Big Shouts out to Lilly Perrotti, Betty Anne and Sam Wade... Love you guys and miss you tons...

Dude, I don't think you know me, but I am one of Christian's good friends. I also worked with your dad in Scottsdale and I know Luke and Shea from the youth ministry in Scottsdale.

I just wanted to give you another good venue for a fake fall: the movie theatre...it is good, because you can load up your arms with old boxes of popcorn and soda cups...if you do it just as the previews are starting and walk in front of the front row carrying a whole pile of stuff and you time it right...the silouetted image of you going down and popcorn and cups flying through the air is priceless...again, as Christian said, you have to clean up after yourself and people will surely laugh, but think about it...you get to sit through the dark for the rest of the movie, which isn't bad AND on the inside you'll be laughing, because you will know that you just duped all those people...keep up the good work!

Dear Jesse,
You don't know me either, I attend the Bridge church and my daughter knows your sister from JH Ignition. We've been praying for you and Shea and your entire family and are really happy, like you are, that Shea is getting so much better every day.
But that's not why I'm writing. I'm really writing to tell you about the effect a fake fall had on the outcome of my life.
When I was in 10th grade I ran for a class office against the class clown. I worked on my posters and my speech and he did nothing. On the day we were to give our speechs to our class (about 400 kids)I gave a really good speech, none of which I can remember. He came out from behind the curtain, walked across the stage, faked a fall, got up, went to the microphone and said in a really bumbly voice "v-v-v-ote for m-m-e".
Then he pretended he couldn't find his way out of the curtain. The vote was a landside. I lost big time.
So, all that to say there is a great future in fake falls and if you work really hard and get good at it, you might be President someday!!
Your new friend,
Ramona Bishop (Kaitlin's mom)

Hello Macon -
I think of you daily and know God's divinity has great things in store for you all. For now I want you to remember that his grace is sufficient and his love everlasting! I pray today that the pneumonia would be obliterated. That the levaquin would do its work quickly and that any fluid in Shea's lungs would be cast away. I pray that Shea is protected from secondary infections related to antibiotic use. I praise G-d for his mercies in allowing Shea to wake and see, squeeze and hug, and communicate. I pray he will continue this healing work and increase Shea's functions and control. I pray that Steve, Susan, Luke and Jesse have divine energy and that G-ds healing hands would be on their hearts, bodies and spirits also.

Much love,

Hi. I saw the website from someone on a music listserve. I don't know you but I've been really touched by your plight and outreach from the many people that love you. I'm Jewish and we don't generally do a lot of direct prayer, but in this case I'm making an exception, and my family is praying for you. Godspeed.

Shea,
I continue to read the updates on your progress and I am so thankful to see that, though it is a difficult journey, you are off the charts on progress!!
I am blessed as I monitor your progress and can't wait to see you back in Atlanta again and at the Bridge. What a celebration that day will be and I know it's coming!
Susan and Steve I pray not only for Shea's recovery, but also for you both. How well I know how difficult this is even with all the good progress. I pray that God will make His presence known in a dramatic way for you both and you will feel His strength flowing through you when you need it.
I am praising God for His work in Shea's healing!!

Love to you all,
Carol Adcock
