Surgery is Underway...
The surgery got started around 5pm Eastern time. The latest X Rays show that the damage to Shea's right eye is less than they orignially thought, and they now feel it will heal on it's own. That means that surgery number 5 (on the Saturday/Surgery update) is now only on the left side, not both.
There has been an interesting request... the surgeon that is operating on Shea just asked Steve to bring him Shea's CD so they can play it in the operating room.
We can't help but feel that the operating team will feel even closer to our Shea with her voice flowing through the room.

It's going to be a long night. Susan asked the doctor if he was really planning on working until 5am tomorrow... he said he most definitely was.

Wow! I'm listening to your CD and praying for you and missing you. I can't believe that all this has happened to you. I thank God every day that He is healing you and you're getting so much stronger every day. I've only known you for just a little while, but praying for you and your family all the time, every day, has made feel even closer to you.

I'm up late in Scottsdale and know it's even later in Macon, but the doctors are still probably doing miracles on Shea's beautiful face. Listening to the CD and knowing that they are also listening to it in the O.R. gives me goosebumps. I ran into several people today who were praying for Shea at the same time I was. The awesome thing is that people all over the world are praying at the same time for one special girl!!Thanks so much for keeping us updated and focused on specific prayer requests.
