"Sing to me Daddy"

This is the last day that Jeanne will be in Macon before the
holidays. Might I say, "Thank you Jeanne for being here for all of
the Hickoks and extended family. You have been here for such a long
time and you have always been there for us."

Our special prayer request of the day is for wisdom of pain
management. Nurses are trying to gradually take her medications down,
but it is a real challenge for them.

Today was a day of challenges for Shea. She rose to meet most of
them. Though sleep was hard to come by, she did what the therapists
and doctors asked of her. If I have learned one thing about being
here, it would be to understand the heart of a real warrior. Shea has
never taken the easy path. She has always asked of herself to do her
very best and even beyond that. I have fondly named her Shea Feather.
Though the tears of pain fall, she remains thankful and considerate
of others and when the pain seems greater than she can bear she rests
in arms of Jesus' name. The last thing that I heard her ask for
before she finally drifted asleep was, "Sing to me daddy about Jesus."

Thanks to all of you who pray in Jesus' name. We love you so much.

Joy

Precious Shea,
You are so strong, and I admire your courage. I pray God will take away your pain so that you can recover peacefully. At the same time though, pain let's you know when your body has had enough and you need to rest :-) I look forward to more updates. I know that God will continue to strengthen you in the days to come.
In Him,
Kristen

Shea,

Every day I look forward to reading this blog and experiencing God's power through you. You are truly an angel and an amazing testimony of God's love and faithfulness. In the past weeks, as I have read, I’ve said "Thank You Jesus!" more times than I can count. The miracles Jesus has delivered through you are unbelievable.

I pray that your recovery continues at a rapid rate and your pain will soon disappear. I miss you, Luke, Jesse, and your Mom and Dad very much. I look forward to the time when I can see all of you again.

God Bless and Merry Christmas,

Ed Heisler

I read the blog everyday and have come to love you through what is written. I met Steve and Susan at Heart to Heart in Phoenix years ago. You were just a very little girl with a lot of white curly hair.
My spirit bears witness with what is written and I'm so thankful I can read and then sit here and pray for you all.
Steve and Susan, I was a friend of Linda Evans, Our son Heath lived with Linda and Ed for a while after we moved to Kansas and Ken Mari also produced my CD in 97. Even if you don't remember me, I remember you. I have no way to express how you all have become apart of my daily life through reading the blog. I cheer with you and weep with you.
I love anyone who loves Jesus and their is a linking of your soul with mine by the Spirit of God that goes far beyond just common belief... Shea remember the Lord didn't just randomly choose you, to bring havoc and heartache into your lives, but he is making broken bread and poured out wine and you may be the finger and the thumb he is using to squeeze the juice from the grapes. Blessed be the tie that binds. With the Love of God, Debbie Miller

Dear Shea,
I have been praying for you for about 3 weeks. I know of you through ties with Mosaic bible Church in Scottsdale. In a few months my family is moving to China to serve the poor and help meet their physical and spititual needs. In China we will have to rely on a God of miracles. I read about you every day because His miracles are continually shown in your life. It points me to Jesus and proves nothing is to hard for Him. Blessings to you all, and thank you for your example of a loving family centered around the love of Jesus Christ.

Shea,
I can't tell you what a blessing it has been to take care of you and your family during this incredible time in your life. It has been a true testimony to me how powerful our God really is and how much he loves us all. You are a very special young woman who has a very special purpose on this earth. I truly believe one of my purposes was to be one of your nurses because it has deepened by love for God and deepened my faith during a time I was really struggling with the why's and how's of the world. Thank you for the strength and grace you have displayed during this whole ordeal because it has been good for us to witness as your nurses! Good luck in your future endeavors because I know you have many ahead of you now!
Love,
Laura Callaway
P.S. sorry about the scrunchi!!!

Steve and Susan, I know it must be wonderful to have your "sleeping beauty" back. I am thankful for all the improvements. Have a wonderful Christmas. We all miss you. Love in Christ, Pete and Phyllis

Good Morning Shea,

It is good to hear that you are resting in the arms of Jesus. He is doing a marvelous work in you. Keep resting and praising Him. You have been a great testemony to the hospital staff, and I know the Lord is working in you to show them His glory. Our love and prayers are with you always!

Love and lots of hugs!

To Shea and the Hickok family,
It has taken me awhile to actually comment but Matt and I have been reading your struggles and accomplishments for awhile. I dont know what else to say because words dont even get close to expressing the hurt we felt for you all and the joy and tears we are now experiencing as we read of all the hard work you are doing. We both love you all! Shea your family chose to do an amazing thing with this blog and have become so vulnerable all for your sake. Thank you for being open so we can all do a small but significant part for you with prayer!

It's been a very busy week...for me and obviously for you guys too. I tell ya'...if you miss a day (much less a week), you miss a lot!

...I just signed on and read a week's worth of updates...I am just speechless as I reflect back on the last month plus. Words can't begin to describe how good God really is.

Shea...God spared you so He could spare many.

Thousands have come alongside you and your family through the past 5 weeks. They have witnessed God's powerful hand of mercy...they have seen His spectacular miracles poured out on you day after day after day...and through all that and more - thousands have experienced His unconditional and limitless love.

As I write, I am confident God has already used this event - tragic as it has been in so many ways - to change lives - to reach the lost...to radically turn believers into "real" believers by showing His faithfulness like never before. And there is NO DOUBT in my feeble mind that He will continue to use you, your family and this event to reach the lost in ways you will never know about until that glorious day when we are with Him.

Praise Him for every ounce of grace, mercy and love we have been so blessed to see! Praise Him!

I have to go for now but will check back in soon.

You will continue to be the focus of my prayers dear Shea...thanks to all your family and friends who have faithfully shared the specific prayer requests. What a glorious Christmas this will be for all of us...the good days in Macon are also good days throughout the world and all of God's great universe!

More love and virtual hugs to you and your fam...some of my favorite people in this life!

Dear Shea,Susan, Steve, Luke and Jesse,
I am so excited you are healing and doing so well! We are praying for all of you, and I cannot tell you how many times I have cried and praised God as I read the blog. We want every detail, because we are walking this with you and the blog makes us feel closer to you. You make my heart rejoice in the Lord and sit back in awe of His greatness and goodness and blessing! Pretty soon you will be back in Atlanta, back in your beds, but in a life that knows God in a new way...we are learning with you about the tenderness of our Father in Heaven, how He has connected us all at the heart, and how He still performs miracles!
We're praying for your pain to go away, your lens and nerves to repair, and for your sweet spirit to never change!! We love you, The Goble Family

Sweet Shea-STAR, it is so fun to write knowing that you are awake and hearing these posts. I wish we were there now to love you up in person!! But I know you are in good hands with your fam and sweet Aunts Jeanne and JoyFUL.
I just want to write a quick note and say that you are such a Godly, awesome young woman. I have known this for years now, but one's true character always emerges in great stress. This may be the hardest thing you ever face in your life and you are working your faith out well. Your love for the Lord echos through the words on the posts, despite the pain, tears and waiting. You are His light and I am proud to call you a sister and friend. Squeeze your fam for me. Love you,
Cate

Connecticut women of prayer send word:Dear Shea, I get letters each day of concern for you. Below are a few of the women who have kept praying and who wrote me today. I get letters like this everyday so multiply this time about 30.

From the Foshee family in Macon (sister of a friend of mine):
Wow, what a miracle. I can't even begin to tell you how Susan, Steve and Shea have touched my family's heart as well as a few of my friends that "happen" to have children in the PICU. God had them there for a reason! But now I am so glad that everyone will be in Atlanta for Christmas!

My girls and I love the 2 songs that are on the blog and we can't wait to get the CD. Let us or Eleanor know when it is out so we can get one.

God Bless your family, Merry Christmas and many more blessing in the New Year.
Saynor Foshee

Liz - that is such wonderful news! I can't imagine how great it'll be to be back in Atlanta! When do they get to leave? Praying! Eleanor
(Eleanor is Saynor’s sister and she forwards all of our prayer requests about you to a whole group of women every few days)

Liz, what incredible news ... there is just no explanation apart from God's intervention. We never tire of hearing how things are going, so please never hesitate to let us know. What a gift for Christmas Day in that family ... wow.

Is there a way to get a CD of her singing? I heard the two that were on the Internet a bit ago, and would love to hear more, especially as I feel we also know her heart and passion for the Lord. Prayers continue ... you know that ... :) and prayers for you all as you travel, see her and them, and for your children, too. Who can even begin to fathom how far, wide, high and deep her influence for Christ will go ... like concentric circles, on and on and on and on ... Blessings and love, Barb :)

Praise,Praise, Praise...glory to our God...may the angels just be jumping for joy at the PRAISE God is receiving for all that he has done for Shea. I read the webpage a couple of times a day , Liz...this is truly a miracle!!
Merry Christmas!
Love, Sally
